Though more recently, families have come to the Island in increasing numbers. There is much more to see and do on the Island than just partying the night away. It’s beautiful beaches, quaint villages and the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Dalt Vila, being just some of the recommended highlights.

Similar to the climate of other islands in the Balearic archipelago, Ibiza boasts a typical Mediterranean weather pattern. The start of the warmer weather begins in May, with temperatures reaching approximately the mid-20s Celsius.

Throughout June to August temperatures often soar to 30°C and above. Rainfall is infrequent during the summer months, averaging around one day per month.

While the summer holiday period is a prime consideration for a family getaway, it’s not the sole option for experiencing Ibiza’s charm. Starting from April, Ibiza showcases sunny days followed by cozy evenings. During the mid-to-low season, daytime temperatures typically range from 20-25°C, offering an ideal climate for exploring the island’s natural wonders with your family. Getting around

There are so many great options for getting around Ibiza it’s sometimes difficult to decide on which mode of transport to choose.

Here’s a little run down on the main ones to give you a little extra help.

Public Transport

The cheapest and easiest way to get around the Island of Ibiza is by utilising the bus service. It is a very well connected service and covers all of the major destinations on the Island. On average the buses run every 30 to 60 mins however, as you would hope, during the busier tourist seasons they tend to run every 10-15 minutes on the busier routes.

The bus network is also a great way of getting to and from the beach. For example, from San Antonio you can catch the bus to the beautiful beaches of Cala Bassa and Cala Comte.

After arriving at the Airport, the cheapest way of getting into either San Antonio or Ibiza Town is via Bus.

It is also a lot quicker than waiting in line for a taxi, especially during the busy periods.

Water Taxis

Water taxis in Ibiza offer a convenient and scenic mode of transportation around the island’s coastal areas. Operating between popular beach destinations and harbours, these taxis provide a unique way to explore Ibiza’s stunning coastline while avoiding traffic congestion. With frequent departures and relatively short travel times, water taxis are a popular choice for families looking to travel around in a more fun and adventurous way.

Taxi

If you are looking for an alternative to the Bus service, then the Taxi system in Ibiza is definitely worth exploring. One thing to note though is that during the busy periods it is definitely better to book a taxi rather than trying to hail one down in the street.

Car Hire

Possibly the best way to explore this wonderful Island, certainly for a few days, is to hire a car. The freedom it affords you to explore the island and find those little family adventures is second to none.

Driving overseas can be a lot of fun, though it is important to remember that in Ibiza they drive on the right-hand side. If you are driving in Ibiza, remember to carry your driving licence at all times whilst driving. Also make sure that you have your passport and car hire contract (if you have hired a vehicle) with you.

Prices are very competitive all year round and it is definitely worth booking your car hire in advance.

Shuttle Bus

Shared transfers (shuttle buses) are useful, as they provide transport between the airport and resorts during the summer season. Other options include taxis, car hire and private transfers, with many companies to choose from both at the airport and across the island. It would also be worth checking with your Accommodation or Travel Agent as they may well offer transfers to and from the airport. These great All-inclusive options are the perfect base for your stay and would be able to arrange a transfer if needed.
